Cotton Candy was spur of the moment, but when i decided he needed to win River something, i DID think about that script and the turtle.

just, reading the script, the idea of him carrying around a turtle. and in the script, the turtles floppy neck is making him sad. AWWW.

also, that script was never a real episode anyway, if that makse sense. they wrote it, but scrapped the whole thing and cannibalized parts of it.
