Seriously I want more of this story. I have a theory about what has happened, and I want to see if I am right or like totally wrong.
I think River brainwashed Jayne. The repeat of the River by the river and poetic says to me the River may have brainwashed Jayne into believing she has died and became Birdy and this allowed River to develop a split personality which has basically taken over destroying the River personality. Since Jayne believes River to be dead then it didn't clash with Birdy's view of the world allowing that personality to continue.
Anyway, whatever the reason is, I want to find out, which means more of this story. So please, please write more soon. Please.
