Rules by Cynthia Lord is about a pre-teen who makes a list of rules for her autistic brother to follow
So B. It by Sarah Weeks follows the life of a girl whose mother is mentally disabled (although I can't remember exactly what she is said to "have"...she is unable to communicate because of a severely limited vocabulary, but aware enough to realize she cannot care for her baby alone.)
Wasn't the little girl in Stephen King's Rose Red autistic...or am I just imagining that?
