It's good! I quite recommend it, and I'm already upset with having to wait for book 3!
I don't think I can quite describe the Thief trilogy, but the first one should be a quick read, and then the second one is amazing and then the third one is AMAZING. But it is important not to spoil yourself at ALL. I know, lame, I didn't describe the books at all... um... The Thief is about a group of people coming together (willingly or not) to find something, and what we learn about the characters along the way, and the awesome settings, and the world-building, and the PLOT. It's just wonderful.
HOWEVER, now I'm all worried, 'cause I've never met anyone who didn't like the Abhorsen books! So ... maybe you'll like The Thief, maybe not?? : )
