BBC Knows All
Jul. 6th, 2004 07:00 pmdoes anyone else find it a little strange that the main article on the bbc right now is John Kerry naming a running mate? is it just me?
anyway, in other BBC related news:
i have been alternately following and bashing my head on my keyboard in frustration over a conversation that my college alumni mailing list has been having. it started out as to what people thought of "practicing" homosexuals being ordained in the presbyterian ministry. by practicing, i mean, in a commited relationship or dating. "abstaining" gays are allowed to be ordained.
naturally, this degenerated quickly into whether homosexuality is a sin, and is now focusing on the differences between gay marriages and civil unions, and the rights there in. this lead to the intellegent comment that it was discrimination (duh), and that it was possible, if we did not give all people equal rights, that rights for certain other members of the population might suffer as well.
