Ah, I'm pretty sure every comment I do now starts with "I LOVE YOU" but seriously, this post is made of win. Maybe I don't even need to do that HYD rewatch I was planning! You seem to have captured most of the awesome parts and gah, MUST RESIST PUTTING MATSUJUN IN POCKET.
While I felt the HYD manga dragged on for too long, the story will forever have a soft spot in my heart due to a number of things, like the strong protagonist and entertaining slew of characters, but the most awesome aspect has to be the romance between Tsukushi and Domyouji. I liked that she doesn't end up with the first guy she sees/likes, and even if Rui's feelings change towards the end I love that awkward, boring date they go on where it becomes obvious to Tsukushi that HANAZAWA RUI isn't the one she's meant to be with. Domyouji, while being a gigantic Dorkface and being cursed with the stupidest, most randomly adorable hair in the world, is just so endearing, and Matsujun really captures that in his portrayal.

IS THIS A LABYRINTH REFERENCE I SEE BEFORE ME? Suddenly I'm imagining Dorkface with even bigger hair (and you didn't think it was possible!) and clinging leggings. ¬_¬
Finally, she comes running up, staring at him in amazement because HE'S STILL THERE.
One of the reasons I don't watch tragic dramas is that I'm easily moved to tears. I don't know if you've seen Million Dollar Baby but it runs for about 100 mins and I cried for SIXTY OF THOSE. Sad stories exhaust me and my eyes go all red and sore and this seems like a segue but I actually cried during that scene because he's trying so hard that it hurts me to watch it and she doesn't know/care/is still unsure and that is so wrong. Argh, just thinking about it is making my eyes tingle.
HE LEAVES HER TO GET BEATEN UP. He will not ever stop being a bastard.
And yet in that scene I'm kind of hurting for him because he loves her so so so much and it's like his heart has just been ripped out of his chest like in Mortal Kombat and there's a voiceover that goes "FINISH HIM" and waaaaaaaaah.
Occasionally, Dorkface is bizarrely polite about things.
And I love how that politeness always manages to BITE HIM IN THE ASS. Nothing goes according to plan when he tries to be a human. Argh, why are they so retarded?!
I will also love forever his enormous handwriting. "LOOK HOW NEAT MY WRITING IS, MAKINOOOOOOOOOOOOO~!"
