I am LOVING the Korean version of Hana Yori Dango, which I wasnt expecting! But then the drama part of my flist kept talking about it, and posting caps, and squeeing, and really, if you promise me that the female protagonist kicks the male lead IN THE FACE during the first two episodes, YOU TOTALLY HAVE MY COMPLETE ATTENTION.

It has a very different feel then the jdrama - or maybe Im projecting, because I know the story. Hmm.

Anyway, in the jdrama, Domyouji comes across as PURE UNADULTERATED EVIL. He beats people up while screaming with rage! He knocks down one of the bitches! He is REALLY trying to get Makino to just GO THE FUCK AWAY. F4 seems more afraid of him..or at least unwilling to make him angry. His woobification takes a while. I didn't fall for Dorkface until ep 4, when he's in the rain and he's waiting and then I began to flail and HAVENT STOPPED YET.

In the kdrama, Jun Pyo is just..a bully. He's a BIGGER bully then the others, but he's just a bully. And just because he's bored. I havent seen him hit anyone yet, and Ive seen Jandi smear him with ice cream and kick him in the face! Instead of giving her a makeover to make her GO THE FUCK AWAY, he gives her a makeover to tell her she can be his SECRET GIRLFRIEND and he'll totally say hi to her in private. Because he can tell she's in love with him. LMAO FOREVER. His friends? LAUGH when they see a girl half his size school him WITH HER FISTS. When he declares she must be in love with him, they crack up! They think it's hilarious to see him get taken down several pegs. I already love him! He's a total dork! He has no social skills! He has NO IDEA why on earth Jandi wouldnt like him!

I already love this show, and Ive only seen two episodes!

It doesnt hurt that Jandi (Makino) is AWESOME. Girl is hardcore, and I love her for it. She doesnt even want to BE at this stupid school! *glee*

Soon, I will write up a post about why my head hurts SO FUCKING MUCH from beating it against a table while watching Why Why Love (HINT: THE END HAS NO CONNECTION TO THE BEGINNING. OUT OF NOWHERE), but why Mike He and his hair continue to charm me, and why Kingone REALLY needs a drama where he gets the girl already!

Also, soon, I will write up that epic post about Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon, and why i have no shame at all in admitting i love its silly, goofy, world-ending wonderfulness! *spins in glee* (Hint: Sailor Jupiter is hot. Mamoru is hot. Turtle guy is too cute for words. Serenity blows shit up!)

I am definitely on board with Boys Before Flowers. I'm positive it's my favorite adaption, and I'm so in love with Jun Pyo, it's not even funny. I've always loved Rui more, but the Domyoji here is just soooo good, I can't help loving him desperately. I think the consensus is that no one expected Lee Min Ho to be so good... everyone else is wonderful, but he's spectacular.

Ah, Why Why Love. Lovely mindfuck huh? It was really good until the last three or so episodes, when it suddenly went all sickperson jdrama-ey. I still love it, but mostly because my love for Chuan Yi knows no bounds.

Speaking of Chuan Yi... he does actually get the girl in Wish to See You Again. Seriously. He does. He even (kinda) steals the girl from Ken Zhu, which is highly impressive. Granted, as I told princess_dexter, the role was written for Jerry Yan, so if it was written for him, he probably wouldn't have gotten her. Because poor Chuan Yi just isn't very lucky...

(I totally want to see Sailor Moon at some point in the near future. Unfortunately my life has been taken over by kdramas recently)

Im only two episodes in, so Im not willing to declare favorite status YET, but it's pretty much made of complete awesome.

In jdrama, I loved Rui (and still love Rui, because HI HOLY HOTNESS, BATMAN) first, but fell for Dorkface gradually. I was completely head over heels for him by ep 5. In kdrama, though, Jun Pyo had me from the VERY BEGINNING.

Why Why Love made me extremely gleeful for many many episodes - the cuteness! the unbearable cuteness! of Rainie and Mike He and being little old people! and nose kissing! and rolling down the ramp! - and then I wanted to set everything on fire and run screaming. But yes, Kingone is the man, and I love him almost as much as I love Mike He's hair. WHICH IS ALOT.

Speaking of Chuan Yi... he does actually get the girl in Wish to See You Again

HE DOES? *heart flutters in excitement* Tell me more about this show! Is it a comedy, or should I go on and rip out my own heart and just skip watching it? Is it any good? I NEED TO SEE KINGONE GET THE GIRL.

I've always been a Rui girl. Well, actually, the first exposure I had to HYD was the anime, in which Rui isn't that awesome, and ends up with Shizuka, so I like Domyoji better there. But in everything else, I loved Rui first. This is the first time since the anime I've actually like Domyoji better than Rui. Craziness.

I agree, Why Why Love was quite good for a good portion of the story, but man, that ending. Way to pull a Love Contract, eh? Hehehe! Oh Mike He's hair... it is so awesome in it's mulley-ness.

Wish to See You Again is actually REALLY good. One of the best twdramas I've seen. It's not comedy, but it's not tragic... it's angsty. And it has the F4 in it! And I actually liked all the characters. One of the girls pissed me off occasionally, but she wasn't all Full House/Hye Won. So yeah, I TOTALLY recommend it! Plus, Zai Zai is massively adorable in it.

Yays! I am highly excited for it! I can't get over the Luna plushie...

I just watched the final movie of the Japanese version... Dorkface was full of dorkiness and Rui was full of awesome. The end made me think they might actually continue with Rui's story... which would be fanstastic if they did something with his hair first...

And I waaaant more Rui, because his story felt really unfinished, and it didnt go anywhere with him, really. I want moooore.

OH GOD IT IS SOOO MUCH FUN. I love Jandi, and i love that her first impulse with Jun Pyo, no matter what has happened, is to inflict violence. EXCELLENT!
