Ok, so i finally got unlazy (thats not true, im actually procrastinating about master's classes homework), and uploaded honeymoon pics.

whoo!

while at some point soon i will have a graphics heavy page with pics and descriptions only, for now we have a test description of honeymoon with links to pics. hopefully, whatever the hell i just said made sense.

text and stuff is behind the cut.

I have so many other things i should be doing. like planning for my class tomorrow, or writing the Thank You Notes from Hell, or even doing something mildly fun, like finding something to eat. i think there is cereal, and thats about it.

damn, theres that scurvy problem again.

anyway, to recap: ceremony, small children everywhere, laughter at shoes, bees, buddhism, married. YAY!

moving on.

the reception!

oh no..wait, first the billions of pics of Senor and I together. as well as the whole family, the whole bridal party, a recreation of the ceremony with strategic positioning of all involved to fit them in...

anyway, we went in, danced first dance (A Kiss to Build a Dream On, Armstrong), did Daddy/Daughter first dance (im blanking...completely. Damnit!), cut cakes (yum), and toasted. i dont drink wine, and no one remembered to get me the sparkling fake stuff i asked for, so the toast? had several faces involved. all saying eww.

then? PARTY!

im told the food was fabulous, i know the band was.

we did the obligitory cheese. Brick House, the Electric Slide..and yes, i was. in my wedding dress. with all my bridesmaids and my mother. until my bustle started snapping buttons off the back of my dress. i think i lost about 5 buttons total. we kept having to re-bustle the damn thing so i wouldnt step on it. and neither would anyone else.

saw several people i hadnt seen in years, who i wouldve liked to spoken to much longer, but i kept having to hug people i didnt know. i didnt know that i was capable of saying "thank you thank you thank you so much for coming it means so much to me yes everything is beautiful god i will pay you to get me a roast beef sandwich" all in one breath before. now i know.

and i kept having to stop whatever i was doing, because people kept wanting to see my shoes!

i didnt think it was that big a deal to wear sneakers under your wedding dress. hell, it happened in Father of the Bride. of course, people were also fascinated with the bridesmaids wearing flipflops, but that was only for the reception.

anyway, much party, lots talking, lots of hugging (i think i hugged at least half the population of california, which is odd, cause i got married in georgia).

presented bouquet to my friend K'Elise, cause she is getting married soon, and i didnt feel like tossing it.

ran, got rose petals tossed at us, got very hugged by my very drunk cousin Philip, crawled into a limo, released the balloons crammed inside so we could fucking SEE, and then took the large amount of bobby pins out of my head, which had no noticable affect on my hairstyle.

natalie predicted that we would be asleep before the limo was on the highway, but i would like to say that we were awake all the way to atlanta.

Ceremony

ok, to start, standing and smiling in my wedding dress, while moving as little as possible so it doesnt get wrinkled before the ceremony for pictures, for something absurd like 3 hours, is enough to make me curl up into a little ball and swear that i will never need to get married again, so can you please put down the camera?

and then Julie, a bridesmaid, locates me a piano bench so i can actually sit down. lovely person. i think i will nominate her for sainthood.

the 8 billion children in the wedding were adorable. oh, sorry, there were just five. and im the new best friend of 2 of the flower girls. "can i sit by you?", "can i sit in your lap?", "can i hold your flowers?", "can i touch your hair?".

was doing impatient happy dances while standing at the top of the stairs, waiting to come down with my dad. it was raining, naturally, so i was coming down the stairs inside instead of the stairs outside. raining. figures. no outside pictures for me. was just glad the Farm had the overhang, so nobody got wet.

for the record, both Natalie and my dad told me they had a car, cash, and lets go. i declined. thank you.

had to step over the end of the aisle runner, so everyone saw my lovely sketchers. my mother cringed a little, then shrugged and laughed.

pretty casual ceremony, which was what i was looking for.

except that the preacher had forgotten that brandus was buddhist until 2 days before the wedding. so he decides to mention it in the ceremony. not just mention, but talk about it for about 5 minutes. which would have been fine, because we arent ashamed of his religion at all, but this was something we had neglected to mention to my grandfather beforehand. hes a little...um...set in his ways? stubborn? predjudiced?

so both brandus and i wince, shan (my bitch of honor) whispers "uh oh", and i start to worry about whether grandaddy is still sitting down, or if hes on his way up to kill Senor.

but we all survived, nobody dropped the rings (although everyone laughed when daddy had to basically tap dance around the veil to keep from stepping on it). and the preacher made a point of wishing brandus luck dealing with "such a strong woman". thaaanks.

ceremony over! successfully married, neither of us cried, or giggled hysterically, although i evidently almost got stung by a bee several times, becasue it kept landing on my veil.

next time: the reception.
